So, yes I am still painting figures. Actually I have painted quite a few since April, but for some reason I just have not got around to posting my results. I will try to get some pictures posted soon. I am currently working on ships, space ships and fantasy naval ships. (more on that later)
Courtesy of a recent game of Battlefleet Gothic BFG AAR I have been inspired to get to work on some unpainted Gothic ships and to touch up some existing 'painted' figures. First up some Ork ships.
After rescuing them from one of my many the shelves of obscurity (where they have sat for at least 14 years) then dusting them off I made quick work of them. I decided to go for a hodgepodge approach for the painting feeling that the Orks are not concerned about the colours that they used on their rescued parts.
A mix of paint brands were used, mostly P3 and GW, from traditional paints, some contrast and some washes. Base coat was black primer, then a metal dry brush all over.
The plasma drive was painted with a contrast paint over white. I may go back in and add a touch of bright yellow in the center of each engine blast.
These are much needed reinforcements for the Ork fleet. They will certainly give the Orks more of a punch.
