My take on this aspect of the table top gaming experience. Not an expert just one person trying to do what he can & trying to demonstrate that anyone can do it.

Boy have I slacked off on posting, again.

HERE is the link to the AHPC page. It was a small post consisting of VSF stuff, Deep sea divers, a pulp league, Some pulp opponents and a unit of Indian troops for back of beyond.

Pulp Alley urban boards

Finally I have gotten around to addressing my woefully inadequate urban/tarmac gaming surface. Good old Dave of Pulp Alley keeps talking about 18" x 18" tiles as a good gaming surface. Well, while he seems to be able to walk into a home store in the US and readily find these tiles it seems to be a bit more of a challenge here in Canada. Even if you can find them they are sold by the case which is not so economical to me. However I did find some tiles on Amazon and then figured out a way to make them double sided, sort of like what Dave does.

AHPC XIV Posts 6 and 7 Rats and 15mm Sci-fi

So, I did two posts to the challenge this past week, my usual (at least the usual this challenge) 15mm sci fi vehicles and some 28mm Pulp stuff. I only got 13 vehicles done this week (see the link to find out why) As for the 28mm stuff, well the rats have needed to be done for quite some time, as had the scarabs, still have more scarabs to do. The robot got done only because sudden inspiration grabbed hold of me and allowed me to finish off a figure that has been languishing for a year or two in my to be done pile.

Rats can be found HERE while the vehicle post is HERE

Pulp Pacific preparations

So, prep work has finally started on some required elements for a new PULP alley campaign, China Station. The gunship is by Sarissa with Pulp Figures hardware and figures. The two junks are 3D Russian 'puzzles' that I bought many, many years ago.

Some big baddies finished off

Four Crooked Dice miniatures and one from Crocodile Games. Big blue and the Pharaoh have been sitting around almost completed for a few years, it was high time that I finished them off. However the three Argonauts had only been primed, so maybe not as bad?

Finally finished off two Old Glory resin buildings

These two have been sitting around for a few years, just waiting to be painted. I bought these after our big Vice Alley Pulp Alley campaign. They are solid and heavy and crooked, everything I come to expect from Old Glory resin models. Both have removable roofs, and both have some really nice detail work. However both also have roof issues, specifically, the roofs do not easily match up.

More buildings built and some even primed

So four more buildings completed, so 1/2 way through the new arrivals. They are easy to build, even the large house, that looked a little daunting at first but was easy enough to assemble.

Bones ruins finished

Inspired by Goodrich Castle, and some of the castles in Scotland, I decided to deviate away from my traditional grey stone paint job and opted for reddish/pink. I still do not think I managed to get the right shade to match the originals, but I do like the end result.

KIKO, son of Kong

Last item in February to get finished off is Kiko, using the Crooked Dice gorilla. I seem to have gone ape crazy lately, and have been monkeying around with my many simian figures, most notably the larger gorilla figure of an earlier post. Since most of my gorillas are likely to be painted in a more typical colour scheme I thought I would do this one up as an albino ape, just like Kong's son was in the movie.

Gorilla of my dreams?

Took a break from Imperial troops to paint up this Reaper gorilla. It is a lovely model, so good that even my painting cannot ruin it!

Something from Ainsty castings

It is amazing what photos reveal that the naked eye cannot see...

From this one picture I see that some touch ups are needed. Now given my eyes are nearly 60 years old, what I can see on a table top is not as clear as this picture, but I still think a little bit more work may well be in order.
