So five buildings for my current What a Cowboy! campaign. The first one is a resin model that really resists paint. I thoroughly washed it, cleaned it again with TPS and even used sealant to try and give the paint something to adhere to. It sort of worked.
So, to be fair it is the peak that lost paint, the other section was where a roofing piece that had been glued on fell off with very little effort. As a result it is important that I stop touching this model, so I have glued it to a base, in this case a clip board with the clip removed. The earth is a textured craft foam sheet that I think really painted up nicely. It has enough texture that comes out when dry brushed. The fence is from Renada.
The minehead is from Sarissa and is made of MDF. For this I sprayed it black and grey then applied some Vallejo sepia to give it a brown, hopefully old wood like appearance. The track is HO track from atlas and the kit came with a base. The plan is to use some plastic roofing and some resin mine carts.
The church is another Sarissa product, as are all the other building in this post (save for the resin building) Very much the Magnificent Seven structure, it was a must have for me. It was primed a khaki tone with some off white added over top. I then applied some lightly textured craft paint in daubing manner. Over this textured paint I applied a wash. The brick work is a paper brick, the roof is plastic card.

The saloon was a much needed addition as it gives me another corner building and a balcony. This was primed white then allowed to sit on a shelf for a couple of years. Once I finally decided what colour to paint it it remained sitting on the shelf until I had forgotten what I decided. As an alternative I took it off the shelf and then decided what colour to paint it, in this case green. Then I realized I already had a couple of green buildings so it became the blue you see in the picture.
The blue is a craft paint blue, actually two blue colours one being highlighting. The bare wood is GW snakebite leather, while the dark wood is GE Wyldwood. This building will also be based on a clipboard
This church developed an odd tilt on the front section after being built so I disassembled it somewhat and straightened out the offending section. Obviously primed white for the most part with the roof being sprayed wolf grey. I had intended to just leave the roof blue grey with some dry brushing, however I am now thinking that I will add shingles to the roof, it should look better that way.
To be continued...
