Final post for AHPC XVI

 So, this is it one last big gasp.

This was a big post (540 points), just enough points to pass my 2000 point target. I am quite happy to get this lot done, especially the AQMF tanks that more than double my existing painted tanks.

So, I have been playing a few games of All quiet on the Martian Front lately and, as a result, I have pulled out my collection of AQMF unpainted stuff. I have far more unpainted than painted American tanks and given the escalating engagements it was high time that I started to finish off my collection. 

The first challenge was how to replicate how I had painted the original tanks. Thankfully I had a vague idea of what I had done, so some quick testing of some old craft paints and the addition of a new highlight colour and I was on my way!

With the green sorted out, I then decided look for a new colour for the other half of my unpainted American tanks. For these I went with Vallejo British Uniform. Thanks to a fellow gamer, John, I have an idea of what to do next. Thy will basically look like some of the WWI British tank paint schemes.

The other big thing for AQMF is a trench system. This one is from Ironclad miniatures. It is a 15mm system, I really should have gone with the 20mm system as the AQMF figures are 18mm. So I have been bulking up the various pieces with clay, bass & balsa wood and lots of glue. 

A while back I finished off the two flattened ruined buildings but never got around to posting an pics.

As mentioned somewhere, I finished painting these yesterday, everything except the wash. Well that and the decorating of the bases was done today, and here they are. There are 10 small two person bases, and 15 large 3 bases. I think they came out okay, some very good some not so good. The best thing about 18mm is that they are hard to see, well for my eyes and the eyes of most of my fellow players!

After sitting on a shelf for years, I finally found a reason/need to paint up three Parroom Station tripods. I have been prepping for another game of AQMF, specifically the harvest scenario, and realized that I need at least one gatherer tripod. Thankfully I had three mostly built and primed 28mm tripods but they had no baskets to keep their prisoners. Now what can I use to represent a basket...?

So with the weekend deadline (pardon the pun) looming, what should I finish painting first but some zombie/rager type figures, that are not required for this Saturday...

All Quiet on the Martian Front - civilians and more drones

Next on the painting table, and hopefully finished this week in time for Saturday, are some human figures and some more drones.  I have 25 civilians stands and 10 Rager stands all primed and 'muddied
up'.  Most are in groups of three, the few two figure stands represent humans in less stressful moments.

As for the drones I have three more scorpions, three more shock drones and 6 more regular drones.
This will bring my total to 21 drones. These too will be required for this Saturday, if we are to play the harvest scenario.

Work  continues on my AQMF stuff. First up are 9 drones, 3 sets of 3 different drones. I figured I would colour code them to make it easier to identify for casual players, and coloured because silver gets old fast. Also pictured are a set of 6 traps.

Next up are some armoured infantry, 1 unit, and two units of rough riders.

My new favorite tool (and pics of the Landship to demonstrate)

I had heard about these before, but never picked one up. It is a Gundam marker, intended for use on their giant robot kits. They come in many colours, are double tipped, very thin one end, fatter on the other. I tested this one out on my AQMF Landship, as I was looking for a way to define the armour plating, to give the model some more visual appeal.

Finally picked up a brush and used it, the funk is over!

And the winner of first item to be painted after the very long drought, is the Land Ship for AQMF!

In the trenches

Quite some time ago I bought these nice 15mm trenches from Ironclad Miniatures. They are really very nice, very good detail, decent amount of space for the placing of based troops.
