Preparation for upcoming Midgard game

 

So, I never thought I would be posting pictures of rulers, but here we are! These are plastic 3d prints for the game Midgard Heroic Battles. They are nifty and easy to paint. I used a flat black Krylon black primer and then dry brushed a craft bronze paint. Then I highlighted them with a Vallejo light gold paint, but thinking that might be it, but I did not like the result. So I used a P3 Gold paint to bring out the scroll work and to paint in the recessed letters. For the 'gems' I used GW paint.

These are fresh off the painting table, once dry I will hit them with a spray varnish, most likely a semi gloss.

Getting started on the new buildings

 

So, with 13 new buildings, lots of scatter terrain and a bridge to paint I figure I better get started. I went for the low hanging fruit first, the mostly stone buildings and the all wood building. First up were the churches.

I used an assortment of craft paints, mostly shades of grey, but some taupe, tan and other muted colours added in.

The stone work was primed rattle can black with a spray dusting of grey. Then some/all of the following paints were over brushed/dry brushed and/or dabbed on to the stone work.

 So, this is it one last big gasp.

This was a big post (540 points), just enough points to pass my 2000 point target. I am quite happy to get this lot done, especially the AQMF tanks that more than double my existing painted tanks.

AHPC post 8 from March 11th

 A much bigger post this time around. HERE it is.

This time around a did a very small post plus a separate terrain post. Time was an issue this time as I had to go on a vacation to a sunny island.

 Boy have I slacked off on posting, again.

Third post to the challenge

 

So, a bit of a low output week given how much stuff I have teetering on the brink of being done. As usual I got distracted by other activities and other projects. For instance, the 7 'Egyptian' cultists were only started the day before my posting date. They impacted my ability to finish off some other miniatures.

My first post to the Analogue Hobby painting Challenge XVI

So, the challenge has started once again. This time around I have set a target of 2000 points. My plan is to tackle my collection of Back of Beyond figures. In my first post I managed to paint up 12 Chinese warlord figures, a mere drop in the bucket.
