My take on this aspect of the table top gaming experience. Not an expert just one person trying to do what he can & trying to demonstrate that anyone can do it.

Getting started on the new buildings

So, with 13 new buildings, lots of scatter terrain and a bridge to paint I figure I better get started. I went for the low hanging fruit first, the mostly stone buildings and the all wood building. First up were the churches.

I used an assortment of craft paints, mostly shades of grey, but some taupe, tan and other muted colours added in.

The stone work was primed rattle can black with a spray dusting of grey. Then some/all of the following paints were over brushed/dry brushed and/or dabbed on to the stone work.

Then some of these paints were dry brushed onto the stone.

There was no set method employed here, just made it up as I went along. I even added other colours that are not shown. For some of the building roofs I used yet another craft paint.

It worked well over a dark base.

This roof is essentially the primer colours that I used. I then used a sepia wash over the roof. The stone work was done with a bit more sand/yellow colour and then washed with Sonic Sledgehammer 'Marine juice' which can be found HERE

So, this is the result of an afternoon of painting. Still a lot to do but definitely progress.

More soon...
