Hard to call what I had done on this before as painting. It looked like a very pale brown color with grey badly dry brushed over it. I believe I was going for a bleached look to the model, but it had no depth, nothing popping. If it ever had a wash applied to it I could not tell. Worst is that I actually used it in a game or two, horrible. So it was long overdue for enhancement, not certain if I have achieved the best 'enhancement'!
So the above items became what you see below.
So, as I said, I am not certain if I completely like what I have achieved. It certainly has more depth to it, more added texture, but now it is not bleached at all! Can't win don't try? Well at least the rails have been painted, a lot. They have a base of German brown, then Vallejo rust texture, dark rust wash, light rust wash, then finally cold steel on the top. None of that base/wash can be seen in this picture, only the metal shines out...
