My take on this aspect of the table top gaming experience. Not an expert just one person trying to do what he can & trying to demonstrate that anyone can do it.

Well, the Landship may have been first, but now I have started this...

Admittedly, a work in progress, but I feel I have made a good start of it!

I started with a white rattlecan primer, then decided to try the GW contrast paints. I used:
  • Hexwraith flame     This was applied first, from the top and allowed to flow down the figure
  • Contrast Orc Flesh  This was applied next, blending with Hexwraith and flowing down.
  • Vallejo Sepia shade (my main go to shade) Was directly applied to any trunk like area
The shading sort of worked, certainly gave it a good base coat, but I then dove into my craft paint supply and used any green colours that I felt like. A very trial and error process seeking the right green shades. Still not certain if I have found what I want. All applied by dry brushing.

More washing after the dry brushing, this time with
  • Vallejo Dark Yellow wash (over the bright green leaves, that had been highlighted with some yellow neon
  • Army  Painter Green Shade (over the tentacles)
Somehow, somewhere along the line the trunks were drybrushed, and well some how came out looking a lot like old wood. I am not certain how this happened, or if it can be seen in the pictures.

At any rate, here are some more WIP pictures as I pause for the night. Hopefully I can get to the fungi, and other plants growing on this beast. You may also have noticed some mold lines, I have a plan to deal with some of these at the end of painting.

I like how the wood/branch that is it's right arm looks
