After a month of building kits (see main rants & ramblings site) it is time to get started on painting everything!
Up first are the pair of flying saucers and crew. Fun little models, and interesting poseable aliens. While it would be nice to add actual lights, I do not have the time nor the equipment to do such a thing.
Also working on a couple of GW 'Gates'. I have had these for a while, and had mostly painted the dark stone gate. This lighter shade gate was started today.
Keeping with the GW theme I have also started work on the Frag drill. I have drawn inspiration from NASA's Apollo mission and Mattel's Major Matt Mason. So far I have started on the legs with a craft paprika coloured paint. All the legs will be this colour, or a variation, mot certain what colour the platforms will be...
I have also started on the arch villains tripod...
...and, finally, a test painting of a tree with contrast paints. I think the tree looks good, so far, will no doubt need some grey drybrushing. The plan is to do the GW forests sets this way, as old growth/dying trees.
