The dark stone gate had been mostly painted and sitting around the basement for more than a year, while the desert tan gate had been unassembled in a bag.
No idea what colours I used for the first gate, but easy enough to guess some variations on black primer, and several layers of progressively lighter shades of grey. As for the tan coloured gate I followed some of the GW web site guidelines with paints I already had.
- Primed white
- GW Skeleton horde wash
- Vallejo Iraqi sand dry brush
- Dry brush GW Eldar flesh
- Army painter soft tone for base and stairs
- Vallejo old gold for base detail
- GW Grey seer
- Wash of GW Basilicanum grey
For the flames
- Iyanden yellow was over white primer
- Game color Hot orange where flames and stone meet
- Model color Deep yellow painted on as highlight
